No but I like my Intellimouse Optical, even if the reviews have been lukewarm.

hell, ill give you my own review...my logitech optical wheel mouse(the blue one) kicks the crap out of my moms intellimouse...its smaller, easier to use(because its smaller), and if your a lefty, you can use it(do they make left handed intellimouses?)

I gotta throw in my two cents for the Intellmouse Explorer just because how strongly...or maybe a better word would be how "passionatly" I feel about it. I LOVE the MS Intellimouse Explorer. It's a big mouse...and differently shaped, which made it *very* hard for me to get used to at first. Especially with Quake, it took me a good 2 weeks until I could rail decently again. But once I got used to it...oh man, I wouldn't dream of using a different mouse.
I used to like the Logitech Wingman Gaming mice, but I actually went through 3 of those before I finally determined they were a piece of crap. 3 mice...each of which died within a month of purchase, because the left mouse button just wore out. Once I can understand, twice....maybe! But certainly not 3 mice in a row!! It was at that point that I lost all my faith in Logitech, and decided to go back to the quality MS mice. I bought the Explorer, and have had it for over 6 months of harcore usage...and it doesn't miss a click, wrist snap, or beat. The Explorer rocks my world...and makes for a great conversational piece in college, lol. Everytime a girl comes in the room she's enchanted by my cool glowing red mouse. I could ramble on forever about how nice this mouse is...but I think you all got my point

People who don't like optical mice are probably not using the right surface. At least that what I have read lately in these forums..the surface is EVERYTHING with an optical.

I totally agree. I have had the IntelliMouse Explorer for 6+ months and it has been wonderful. I really like it, and it fits my hand great.

The only thing that has happened to it is that the Microsoft logo has rubbed off, but you really can't consider that a BAD thing.

I've had mine intellimouse w/intellieye since they came out and I would never think about going back to the old ball.. very smooth and accurate..

The only real competition is between the Intellimouse Explorer and the cool new Logitec one(forget the name). I've got the microsoft one and my roomy has the logitec one. They both work fine and its really just a matter of adjusting, but here are my opinions.

Microsoft's roller is smoother and easier to use.

Logitec's thumb button is easier to use since you can rest your thumb on the mousepad rather than keeping it hovering 3/4 inch up.

Other than those two differences, they are about the same.

I've heard that the standard optical mice use only one light while those made by Mac use two pointed in opposite directions to give better stability and control while moving the mouse very quickly. I dunno, have any of you guys heard about this

I hear ya, the logitech optical mouse is the best mouse I have ever used. Go with logitech.

I have one and it rocks, my old mouse didnt have wheel, but once you go wheel, you dont go back.

I have had no probs whatsoever with it

As an ex Rugby player, with BIG hands the MS Intellimouse Explorer is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used, and I would say I have tried most including the logitech, razor boomslang, etc. etc.

Hahaha, agreed! I'm a pretty big guy...and I need a big mouse to meet my needs! The Intellimouse Explorer is a MANS mouse!

actually, i have pretty big hands, and so does my freind that has the same mouse.

Okay y'all, this is a 'lil off topic but I'm going to ask anyway.

How does the optical mice stack up to say the "Logitech Mouseman Wheel" in UT,Q3A/Q3F,
Halflife TFC, ect.? Do they give you better, worse, or the same control? Have you experienced any quirks with these optical mice in thses FPS's?

I need a new mouse, and if I can get a low maintenance one that works the same or better than an old ball type then thats what I'm going to do.

I'll give you my personal endorsement for the MS Intellimouse Explorer. It's *great* for games once you get used to it. It takes a week or so to get used to it;'s shape and feel, but once you do, I would wager to say it's more precise than any ball mouse you'll come across....and oh yeah, the biggest benefit of all, you never hafta clean those silly little rollers inside the mouse! Yay!

As for Logitech, I can see alot of folks here on this board have had good experiences with them, I wish I could say the same for myself. Logitech rorally screwed me, 3 times...
In my opinion, they're pretty low-rent mice, but that's just my opinion

I use one and like it for the most part, I hear they aren't considered the best for gaming because they have slower movement response or something? But I can't tell a bit of difference.
