  • From a very early age we are taught to shun stereotypes. Just because most Caucasians have a hard time getting off the ground doesn't mean all white boys can't jump; it's just not a nice thing to say. As a general rule of thumb, never make a rash generalization because there's an exception to every rule.

Unfortunately in today's society, prejudice exists in every subject matter where differing opinions are viable. Many people hate peanut butter; some loathe jelly, but up until now, it has been a generally accepted truth that laptops aren't adept at gaming. Buckle your seatbelts and put your tray tables in the upright position for the rules are changing.

Over the past couple of years, the role ATI Technologies has played in the mobile computing market has changed drastically. From controlling 10% of the market share in 1998 to projecting between 40 and 50% for 2000, ATI is once again making a run to maintain their high-end status with their upcoming Mobility 128. Already having made a debut in Apple's Powerbook G3, high-end PC laptops based on the Mobility are already in the works and should be available shortly.
