The GLADIAC is of standard design with the option for a video in/video out module, called the VIVO, that can be purchased separately for video video capture, editing and playback. ELSA has partnered with Philips on the design of the VIVO and availability through the ELSA Online Store (www.shopelsa.com) is expected by late May.
ELSA's take on the GeForce2 GTS seems to be that the four-pixel pipeline, now fully functional, along with per-pixel bump mapping and real multi-texturing are the features that really make the GeForce2 GTS an impressive piece of hardware.
And they should know. ELSA's relationship with NVIDIA puts them in a rather unique position as they are OEM partners on NVIDIA's full line of products from the low-end Vanta all the way up to the Quadro workstation.
ELSA was involved in NVIDIA's migration to the workstation market, early on recognizing that NVIDIA's technology could be applied to this arena where ELSA already had a strong foothold. ELSA's TNT2 based Synergy2 entry-level workstation board was the first NVIDIA-based workstation product and this bi-directional technical relationship, ELSA bringing in their extensive workstation ISV test lab and OpenGL experience and NVIDIA giving ELSA a leg up into consumer/retail, has served both well. ELSA is also highly incentivized to push NVIDIA's chips as approximately 90% of their OEM products feature an NVIDIA part.
