First, the TV versions of the AGP-V3400TNT allow for full TV-Out functionality through their included S-Video and RCA Out jacks. Maximum resolution supported is 800x600, which is pretty average.

Regarding the video capturing ability, the TV models come with a basic bundled piece of software called "ASUS LIVE3400". Think of this program as being similar to the VSHOT and Cinema Live programs that come with the Canopus Total3D 128V card, which has been a low cost option for basic video capturing for some time now.

When using the LIVE3400 program, users can opt to capture images or still frames from just about any video source since the TV models include both an RCA-In port, and an ASUS proprietary "Video Box" In port. The ASUS Video Box isn't something we know a great deal about yet, so we won't speculate on its capabilities at this time. From the look of it, the box has a variety of In ports on it, and can accept high-quality signals from DSS or cable TV as well as other generic RCA utilizing devices.

Professionals should be warned that the AGP-V3400TNT TV models aren't intended for the serious editor. Those seeking more robust options and higher resolution support should look into the Matrox Marvel G200 (See our review of the Marvel for more info.)

We'll test and report on the AGP-V3400TNT TV cards when they arrive, expect the reviews after we get back from Comdex (Late November).
