Now that we've seen Double Data Rate GeForce-based cards slowly proliferate in to the market, consumers have a little more selection to choose from. With Guillemot's acquisition of the tech-savvy brand name Hercules, their North American presence is being felt as strongly as their established base in Europe. With an excellent reputation for their TNT2 boards, Guillemot is in a position to offer a next-generation card with unique features, impressive overclocking potential, and responsive user support.

Today we'll be taking a look at the 3D Prophet DDR-DVI, one of the first DDR cards to offer support to users of flat panel displays and LCD projectors. Although flat panel monitors aren't a mainstream standard yet, it is definitely exciting to see support being built-in to a current generation graphics card to support those who are lucky enough to own one.

As it is based on the same reference design that we've already seen on ELSA's X² DDR card, we expect the 3D performance of the 3D Prophet DDR-DVI to be comparable. In addition to a DVI connector, Guillemot has also chosen to include TV-Out via Brooktree's 869 chip for those looking to watch DVD or game on the big-screen.
